About

This site contains Stever’s less-than-thoughtful business writing. This is where I blow off steam, engage in humorous exploration of business insanity, and generally take a much more off-the-wall approach to business before returning to serious stuff in my serious business blog, Business Explained.

I’m Stever Robbins, a rather eclectic graduate of Harvard Business School, MIT, and New England Bartender’s School. Not always in that order. My passion is helping people do great things with their lives, and I bring all kinds of tools to bear: business and leadership expertise, cognitive science, systems thinking, an absurd amount of ad hoc knowledge that probably has no statistical significance whatsoever, plus recently, exploration of spiritual matters, Shamanism, Taoism, and the like.

My opinions are often expressed strongly, though I’m willing to change my mind if you can hammer a fact or two past my defenses. I don’t consider myself liberal or conservative. I’m a political functionalist, which means I’m committed to a process of governance, rather than a particular set of positions. You can read about political functionalism here. That said, I much prefer a world where everyone is happy to a world where the economy is doing well but the people aren’t.

My professional interests—executive coaching, public speaking, and facilitation—are well-documented at my SteverRobbins.com website.
